Anderson v1 pg419 - letter #425

                                                                P.P.

I am just letting you know in haste that if it is difficult to find performers for the first two horn parts, you could have, instead of the four horns, two violas, provided they are solo parts; but the other two horn parts in C major are easy to play and can be performed by any two horn-players.

For the sake of my health I am hurrying off to Baden where I hope to restore it to some extent.

The cost of having the scores copied amounts to 8 gulden, 24 kreuzer, for which I am to receive a receipt.  I have added 3 gulden for my servant who put all the copies in order. Hence the total is 11 gulden, 24 kreuzer. After deducting this sum I will send you the remainder of the 100 gulden in a few days – At the moment it is impossible to do so --

Should you write to me, please enclose your letter in a cover with the following address in V[ienna], i.e. to Herr Oliva, to be delivered to Gebrüder Offenheimer in the Bauernmarkt.

                                    In the greatest haste, your
                                                                              Beethoven
